The ACSF Industry Audit Standard
The ACSF Industry Audit Standard has been developed with the input and guidance of leading safety auditors, charter operators, shared aircraft ownership companies and charter consumers.
The ultimate goal of the Industry Audit Standard is for charter operators and shared aircraft ownership management companies to complete one comprehensive audit on a recurrent basis rather than the multiple audits they currently complete.
The Industry Audit Standard is a revolutionary program built from the ground up by ACSF to set the standard for the independent evaluation of an air charter operator’s and/or shared ownership company’s safety and regulatory compliance. With the deployment of the ACSF Industry Audit Standard, the charter consumer can be assured that audited and registered operators are compliant with the highest standards of safety and compliance. Participating independent auditors will be accredited by the ACSF.
Operator and customers alike can be assured of the integrity of the program because becoming audit registered requires the review and approval of the on-site auditor(s) recommendations by an independent review board. Information on the Air Charter Safety Foundation and its certified members can be found at www.acsf.aero.
What is IS-BAO?
The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) formally introduced the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) in Geneva, May 2002. In many business sectors, international standards are recognized for their role in facilitating global commerce. IS-BAO is similar in this respect as its fundamental purpose is to foster standardized, safe and highly professional aircraft operations.
IS-BAO is a code of best practice. It has been developed by the industry for the benefit of the industry. It is the industry’s contribution to promoting highly professional operational practices. IS-BAO is intended to build upon the excellent safety record already established by business aviation. Since the fourth quarter of 2002, IBAC has awarded Certificates of Registration to many flight departments that have successfully met the IS-BAO standard as verified by an accredited auditor. Additional information on the IS-BAO standard can be found at www.ibac.org/is_bao. The site describes the process used to keep the standard dynamic and current with new equipment and procedures.
The ARG/US Platinum Rating
ARG/US International, Inc. (ARG/US) is the industry leader in providing specialized aviation services to companies that manufacture, finance, operate, maintain, and market commercial and business aircraft, as well providing products and services to end-user consumers around the world. ARG/US is the worldwide leader in performing on-site safety audits for corporate flight departments, charter operators, and commercial airlines. A Platinum rating requires a functioning Safety Management System, and clear and workable Emergency Response Plan, and appropriate written standards, implementation, and records for all major aspects of Operations and Maintenance within a flight department or Charter Company.
